2025 BOLT Intern - Transportation/Storage Services (Houston)

With approximately 67,000 miles of natural gas pipelines, Kinder Morgan owns an interest in or

operates the largest natural gas network in North America. We serve the major consuming markets of the United States, and our pipelines transport approximately 40 percent of the natural gas consumed in the U.S. Our pipelines are connected to every important natural gas resource play and supply area, including the Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Bakken, Utica, Uinta Permian, Haynesville, Fayetteville and Barnett.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As Transportation/Storage Services’ Interstate Pipeline Intern, you will be exposed to various aspects of Natural Gas Transportation including but not limited to Scheduling, Contracts & Business Processes. You will have the opportunity to work within the Scheduling team and be actively involved in day-to-day exchanges amongst team members across these assets as Kinder Morgan works to schedule and transport natural gas throughout North America.

  • Natural Gas Scheduling: Scheduling serves as a key point of contact for customer inquiries, performs daily processing activities regarding natural gas transportation for nominations, confirmations, scheduling, allocations, and imbalances.
  • Natural Gas Contract Administration: Contract Administration works with Commercial, Legal, Regulatory and Customers on set-up and maintenance of contracts, rates, pathing, billing, agencies and transaction level information in the DART system. Manages FERC contractual reporting requirements. Administers pipelines’ capacity release within tariff and NAESB standards.
  • Natural Gas Business Processes: Business Processes works with the Business and IT areas to ensure the Direct Access Request Tracking (DART) computer system is a reliable, stable, accurate, and compliant system by establishing and implementing quality control steps focused on current and future system changes and events.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least a sophomore pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft software products and aptitude to learn other applications quickly.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work autonomously with limited direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities while working in a fast-paced work environment.
