Accounting Generalist
Overview
BrightView is a rapidly growing healthcare organization specializing in patient-focused, outpatient addiction treatment. Committed to our mission, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Generalist to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong bookkeeping skills, month-end close experience, and payroll management expertise. The Accounting Generalist will handle various accounting duties, support month-end close processes, and ensure accurate payroll administration. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities

PAYROLL & EMPLOYEE SUPPORT:
- Process payroll accurately and on time, using Paycom, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Address employee questions on paychecks, including resolving any inaccuracies or omissions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

MONTH-END CLOSE AND FINANCIAL REPORTING:
- Complete specific month-end close tasks, particularly those related to payroll accounting.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile payroll-related accounts, and support the preparation of financial statements.
- Assist in variance analysis and ensure the integrity of financial data related to payroll expenses.

CROSS FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTING TASKS:
- Manage general bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
- Cross train in other accounting functions as needed, providing support to accounts payable and corporate accounting.
- Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
- Assist with internal and external audits and support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
- Other duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage, Chrome River, and Paycom highly preferred)
- Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with payroll systems and knowledge of payroll compliance are preferred.
- Familiarity with financial analysis and reporting tools.
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:
- 1+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in bookkeeping, month-end close, and payroll.
- Developing knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and regulatory requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
