When you join our team as a Site Teacher you will:
- Implement Champions curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child
- Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
- Partner and communicate with parents, with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children.
- Support your center’s success; partner with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement.
- Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners.
Wisconsin Licensing Requirements – Site Teacher
To qualify as a Site Teacher (Child Care Teacher) in Wisconsin, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have completed high school or its equivalent as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
- Have at least 320 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a group child care center or other approved early childhood setting
- Meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Two courses for credit in early childhood education (or equivalent) from an institution of higher education
- Two non-credit, department-approved courses in early childhood education
