At Safex, no two days are the same, but here’s some of what you can expect during your internship:
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative respirator fit testing
- Maintaining and calibrating IH equipment
- Maintaining appropriate air sampling instruments for full-shift, task-based, and grab samples
- Conducting and documenting chemical inventories
- Understanding effects of the physical properties of substances
- Recognizing the relationship between temperature and pressure on exposures
- Assist with exposure sampling involving routine monitoring methods for physical, chemical, and biological agents.
- Interpret labels and SDSs and communicate the hazards to workers
- Assist with indoor air quality assessments
- Prepare written programs to meet individual regulatory standards and customer needs
- Accurately prepare written project reports and customer correspondence
- Conduct simple construction safety inspections
Qualifications
· Second year college student or recent graduate (2 years or less)
· Excellent written communication skills
· Strong intrapersonal communication skills
· Microsoft Office proficiency
