I was very appreciative of the firm culture and company values. Condley and Company had a high level of community involvement which motivated their employees to think outside of themselves and their tasks at hand. Condley's compensation matched their professionalism which was also much appreciated.
One aspect of Condley's culture that I was really appreciative of was their dedication to success and not merely performance. There were numerous times throughout my internship in which I was granted more patience in the short run in order to maximize my utility in the long run. I cannot fully express my gratitude towards Condley and their dedication to my development.
What I wish was different
I honestly would not change anything. Condley and Company excelled at their accounting services while still maintaining quality employee morale.
Advice
I would encourage future interns to ask questions and be transparent with your progress while filing tax returns.

Income tax Accounting intern
January - April 2019 • Abilene, TX
What I liked
The work atmosphere and the employees. Condley and Company is a place where people aren't just expenses incurred for the business to run; rather, they are treated with dignity and respect all the way down to the interns. We were given a very desirable level of autonomy in preparing returns and leaned a great deal about income tax filing through the patience of the accounting associates and managers above us.
What I wish was different
Truly nothing. The experience was worth it even if I had come out of the internship disliking income tax reporting. This however didn't happen, and instead I found out how much I enjoy it!
Advice
I would say to keep an open mind and not enter with your head full of assumptions about how it will be. Instead, be confident that these are good people who want to teach you and show you the ropes of accounting, even if you are more unfamiliar with it than you'd like.

Tax Intern
February - April 2017 • Abilene, TX
What I liked
The size of the firm made it possible to easily talk to everyone regardless of whether I was working with them directly or not.
What I wish was different
I only did individual tax returns so it would have been interesting to perform other work for the firm.
Advice
Don't be afraid to ask questions when you come across something unfamiliar. No one expects you to know everything in the beginning and they all want you succeed.
