Kroll

Consultant

January 2020 - February 2022 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Most of the team who were either Consultants or Managing Consultants) was super friendly and very helpful.

What I wish was different

Work was quite bland. My manager was terrible. Barely spent any time trying to help new recruits adjust and was warned by many to not approach him for questions even though managers claim they're approachable!

Advice

You can be here for the experience but they do rotate workers a lot because they keep hiring and then firing... There's also a lot of pressure to work well beyond your 8-hour shift (incl. late nights). You'll be scared to say no to that. They've lied to me about the rules and expectations of job. But you can't expect much decency from a firm whose main purpose is to help bankrupt companies recover as much money as they can for themselves.

Real Estate Analyst

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Fantastic team with a UConn alumni there, great company and the work was constantly changing and always interesting

What I wish was different

Operational roles like HR and Payroll were quite unresponsive sometimes

Advice

Ask questions nonstop and be a real person - don't think that you have to be professional all the time. The analysts and associates are only a year or two older and definitely not old, corporate drones

Valuation Intern

June - August 2017 • Boston, MA

What I liked

Hands on experience with financial modeling and opportunity to work with experienced and knowledgable professionals.

What I wish was different

Wish there were more opportunities for over time

Advice

Do your best to get your hands on a project that you can be the analyst on so that you have some real experience and have something to talk about in other interviews if you choose to do something else later on.
