I loved being able to craft articles with one-on-one support from the Latina Republic executive director. It was also great to connect remotely with college students across the US and learn a ton from each other's pieces.
What I wish was different
It might have been nice to connect and converse with the Latin American Correspondent interns more, primarily you only got to know the people who shared your internship title.
Advice
You don't need prior experience with journalism to apply, so don't be intimidated by the thought of interviewing nonprofit leaders for your stories. It is very cool to have this sort of outlet.
