Working at a concert venue has been the biggest blessing to me. I love music and concerts so I couldn’t have gotten a better job.
What I wish was different
If I could choose one thing to be different, I would have liked to be a bartender at my job instead of security.
Advice
Be very stern with patrons, and do not let them do what they want.

Guest Ambassador
July - August 2019 • Charlotte, NC
What I liked
The various personalities I was able to interact with found both in my fellow Guest Ambassadors, the other Live Nation staff members, and the audience. This meant that I was constantly meeting new people, figuring out what they were like, and potentially helping them with an issue. Additionally, the issues I had to help with were quite varied, meaning I never got bored doing the same thing at every concert.
What I wish was different
Honestly, it was an enjoyable experience overall, and my supervisors prepared me as best they could for any uncomfortable situations, such as drunk guest.
Advice
Always be respectful to guests. If a guest is causing a problem, it is usually not because they came to the concert to specifically do so. Everybody just wants to have a good time and, if somebody reacts negatively to you asking them to throw away their alcohol at the gate or return their golf umbrella to their car, just phrase it as something Live Nation is doing to make sure everybody can have a better time. Also, if they don't do said things, they'll just get told the same thing by security at the gates, so there isn't much of a reason to get worked up about it so much.

HR Data Analytics Intern
June - August 2018 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
I loved the in depth amount of professional development resources offered throughout my summer internship.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to work on at least one project outside of my assigned department.
Advice
Ask plenty of questions! I gained so much knowledge from my internship experience at Live Nation Entertainment because I asked insightful questions. My internship coordinator, and other professionals were inclusive and supportive of me throughout the duration of the internship.

Sustainability Coordinator
June - August 2019 • Saratoga Springs, NY
What I liked
I loved the experience to be the first to create a program of sustainability at the Saratoga Springs Amphitheater. It was amazing to be able to bring awareness to the ways in which Live Nation is contributing to sustainability efforts in the music industry. They are truly a company that is a frontrunner for these programs. I felt very welcomed by all "band members" and the sustainability program was received greatly by everyone I encountered, fans alike.
What I wish was different
I had wished I had even more time to start the program this past summer but I look forward to hopefully continuing to grow the program this summer.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share from this experience is to just go for it! Be confident in what you believe and even if you are young, you can make an impact. This experience taught me that you can do a lot in a little time and that a positive impact is achievable if you work hard.

Parking Attendant
May - August 2019 • Charlotte, NC
What I liked
It was a good job with frequent hours, however, it was not a job that I should have taken. I prefer jobs that give me the opportunity to work with people directly, and you could not with this job.
What I wish was different
I wish communication from co-workers to each other, and to supervisors, and vice versa, and been more effective. This was my first season, and I kept getting different messages.

Sponsorship and Media Intern
June - August 2019 • Los Angeles, CA
What I liked
This internship was the best. I really liked how inclusive the staff was that I was interning for and how they were constantly encouraging me and the other interns as well as giving us feedback.
What I wish was different
If I could wish anything different from this internship, I think it would be that it was a longer term. However, the reason why that was not possible is because of the length of the summer term. So, that being said, there really is not much that I would change about the internship.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would share about this experience is to not get discouraged with competition. Do your best and show what you are made of.

May - August 2019 • Nashville, TN
What I liked
I loved that the job allowed me to make lots of friends, meet people in the music industry, and see the operations that go on behind the scenes.
What I wish was different
It was an outside position during the Nashville summer meaning it was extremely hot. It would be nice if they had fans for employees.
Advice

Venue Sales Intern
May - August 2019 • Chicago, IL
What I liked
I liked that I was able to spend time in the Live Nation Chicago office and could attend meetings to learn more about the company does. My job took me to concerts a few times a week so I was able to attend shows and interact with guests each night. Music is my greatest passion so being able to experience live music all summer was a privilege.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to spend more time in the office with other departments like booking, marketing and touring. I was able to sit in on marketing meetings and meet with top Live Nation people, but I would have liked to have more exposure to what the other interns were doing each day but this wasn't a priority of my supervisors. There should have been more opportunities for interns to network and meet each other.
Advice
Do what you can to be exposed to more aspects of what Live Nation does, ask those around you to help coordinate meeting times.

Marketing Intern
July 2018 • Dallas, TX
What I liked
The nature of the job - every day was different. I had typical office duties like creating proposals and doing market research, but I also got to work at venues doing marketing support and attending concerts.
What I wish was different
Nothing! This internship has made it clear to me that I want to go into concert promotions in the future.
Advice
Take advantage of every opportunity you get - there’s tons of shows to work at and lots of phone Q&A’s with industry execs. Embracing those opportunities helped me learn a lot about the industry.

I really enjoyed communicating with customers and fans; sharing interests, assisting them with what they needed, and suggesting other shows they could attend all made me feel like I was a part of the exeprience they were having.
What I wish was different
I wish that using social media was more important for the position; I feel as though our team can greatly benefit from social media and we should learn how to use it as a resource.
Advice
Knowing your audience is key. The people you meet have a lot to say, sometimes good and sometimes bad. You must know how to receive that and respond in an effective, polite way.
