Finance Intern

What I liked

I enjoyed that they gave me experience in both accounting and finance departments. I also really enjoyed learning about how finance is different in the medical field. It was so interesting to see a hospital's finances and how they charge and account for different services they provide.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have spent more time shadowing different employees. A lot of the time was spent doing little assignments and I wish I could have had more hands on experience learning directly from employees.

Advice

I would say to just take any internship that is offered because even if you don't think you'll enjoy the field, you will learn so much and gain so much experience. I never thought I wanted to do finance for a hospital, but I loved it and felt like I came back to school with so much knowledge.
