The team is great and the company is great as well. The work felt exciting and you were able to learn a lot as an accounting student.
What I wish was different
The training to be a bit more applicable. Since it is a national firm some stuff was useless.
Advice
If you are an accounting student not sure as to what you want to do with your degree, I highly would recommend this place for an internship.

Estate & Trust Team Intern
June - August 2023 • Farmington Hills, MI
What I liked
Everyone was very nice and understand that you don't know much going in. You are assigned a buddy which you can ask any questions to and they were very helpful throughout my time there.
What I wish was different
Sometimes you would have to travel to a different office for meetings. For me it was bi-weekly meetings in Southfield which were a 1 1/2 to 2 hour commute for me.
Advice
Take notes on everything. Try to get a written out process for how to prepare certain returns so it will be easier doing them in the future.

Tax Intern
January - April 2017 • Sterling Heights, MI
What I liked
I was exposed to multiple industries, corporate and individual returns, and worked with an amazing staff that was knowledgeable but most importantly willing to take the time to share that knowledge with the interns.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have seeked out a mentor in a higher level position earlier on to ask professional advice about the job field and opportunities awaiting.
Advice
DO NOT be afraid at the fact that you don't know any of the material.
