Audit Intern - Summer 2026
We are looking for candidates for an internship in the audit department of our public accounting firm. Applicants should have strong communication and project management skills and basic accounting knowledge and computer skills.
Responsibilities:
· Complete assignments within time budgets while maintaining a high quality work product
· Proactively communicate critical issues and the status of projects to supervisors
· Apply information and skills learned on engagements to future engagements
· Develop professional relationships with supervisors, peers, and clients
· Assist supervisors and peers with special projects as needed
Requirements:
· Basic knowledge of accounting
· Basic computer skills
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Ability to think critically
· Organization and analytical abilities
· Work in a team environment
· Flexibility and adaptability
Internship Benefit Details:
· COMPENSATION - Paid hourly, competitive rate
· OPPORTUNITY - Potential for extended internship/part time/ or full time work
· EXPERIENCE - Opportunity to work directly with different clients, various audit areas and potential to complete an audit from start to finish and work closely with other associates at the firm.
· SPRING - consists of audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed upon procedural engagements
· SUMMER - Primarily on employee benefit plan and Department of Housing and Urban Development audits
· FALL - Primarily not for profits and Department of Housing and Urban Development audits and planning for spring audits
· INDUSTRIES - Construction, manufacturing/distribution, technology, professional services, professional employer organization, housing and urban development, broker-dealers, retail sales, employee benefit plans, and not for profit
· EDUCATIONAL & CERTIFICATIONS – Reimbursement of CPA exam costs once all four parts have been passed (additional requirements apply)
