Maintenance Engineering Co-Op (Fall 2025)

Description: 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. 

The Maintenance Engineering Co-Op will support the development and integration of maintenance programs across multiple sites. Co-op will last for up to12 weeks. Co-ops will work 40 hours a week, earn a competitive wage, and travel. 

 

The Co-Op will assist in cataloging equipment assets, building preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, and entering data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). 

The Co-Op will collaborate with site teams to gather equipment specifications, operational details, and maintenance needs, and document findings using Excel and related platforms. 

The Co-Op may travel to operational sites, primarily within the Cincinnati region, to support equipment inspections, verify field data, and assist with rollout of program improvements. 

Co-Ops completing multiple sessions may take lead on select improvement initiatives or pilot program rollouts. 

Must have reliable transportation due to travel requirements. 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Actively pursuing Bachelors or technical degree program with concentration in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Systems Engineering or related discipline. 

Experience with CMMS platforms 

Strong MS Excel skills 

Strong CAD skills 

Strong data analytics and management skills 

Ability to build relationships, collaborate and work efficiently with team members. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Familiarity with facility layout tools 

Interest in maintenance systems preferred 

Ability, willingness, and desire to work in a hands-on, industrial environment. 

Ability and willingness to work outside in extreme weather conditions in an industrial environment.
