Are you a skilled automotive technician looking for variety, stability, and the opportunity to work on everything from fire trucks to snowplows? The City of Casper is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician II to join our Municipal Fleet team. This is your chance to expand your mechanical expertise across a wide range of vehicles and equipment in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
🔧 What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a full fleet including fire apparatus, police vehicles, sanitation trucks, ski resort equipment, and more
- Perform preventive maintenance and full-scale overhauls on gas and diesel vehicles
- Work with advanced diagnostic tools, hydraulic systems, and computerized vehicle systems
- Weld, fabricate, and troubleshoot issues with HVAC, drivetrain, and electronic systems
- Collaborate with a skilled team of mechanics and provide mentorship as needed
💼 What You Bring:
- 2+ years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance
- Strong knowledge of engines, electrical, heating & A/C systems, hydraulic systems, and welding
- High school diploma or GED (Associate’s degree or ASE certifications preferred)
- A commitment to customer service and safety
- Ability to respond to emergency call-outs (as needed)
ASE certifications or equivalent experience highly desired.
