Grants Management Specialist - Limited Service

The Department of Mental Health is seeking a Grants Management Specialist to support the Department's Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health initiatives related to the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDG B-5). The PDG B-5 grant seeks to empower state governments to better leverage federal, state, and local early care and education investments, and help coordinate early childhood programs and services that already exist in the state according to the identified needs of the state.

 

The position is responsible for consultative and administrative work involving the development, management, monitoring, and closeout of federal and state grant awards. The Specialist will evaluate grantee compliance against appropriate standards and will provide written reports of grantee compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Additionally, the position will conduct review of final program reports, interim and final audits, and other closeout data for all applicable grant programs. The Specialist will assist organizations, grant administrators, and Department staff to understand and comply with federal and state requirements.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

 

Bachelor's degree with coursework in financial management, grants administration or program evaluation AND three (3) years or more at a professional level in accounting, financial auditing work, grants administration, or in a role with responsibility for management of financial affairs, or a governmental accounting system.

 

OR

 

Master's degree or higher in business or public administration AND two (2) years or more at a professional level in accounting, financial auditing work, grants administration, or in a role with responsibility for management of financial affairs, or a governmental accounting system.

 

OR

 

Two years or more of full-time college coursework OR an associate's degree with coursework in financial management, grants administration or program evaluation AND five (5) years or more at a professional level in accounting, financial auditing work, grants administration, or in a role with responsibility for management of financial affairs, or a governmental accounting system.

 

OR

 

High School diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) years or more at a professional level in accounting, financial auditing work, grants administration, or in a role with responsibility for management of financial affairs, or a governmental accounting system.
