The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America’s national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention.

Title: Marketing & Communications Intern

Information about the Office/Division:
This position is located within the Planning and Operations Division in the MarCom Project Management Branch in the Office of Marketing and Communications (MarCom), and reports to the Manager of MarCom Project Management. The MarCom Project Management Branch is responsible for managing a collaborative process for the cross-functional implementation of a wide range of projects that advance the priorities of our internal partners, MarCom, and the institution more broadly.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist project managers with tracking deliverables for projects, ensuring timelines are correct and can be met
- Update and maintain project schedules and templates in Smartsheet.
- Assist the project managers, and assess risks for projects
- Build reports in Smartsheet to assist in tracking projects.
- Schedule meetings, create agendas, and take notes during meetings.
- Collaborate with the Manager and Senior Project Manager, assist in tracking and reviewing processes and informational documents for the branch.
- Update the PM Handbook as new processes are developed or changed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education in marketing, communications, and/or project management is required.
- Project management work experience can be used in place of education.
- Excellent communication skills - verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of databases and spreadsheets to track deliverables.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Marketing, communications, and/or project management education or commensurate experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Smartsheet is preferred.

To be eligible to participate in the Internship Program, students must meet the three following enrollment criteria:
- The student must be 18 years or older currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university
- The student must have completed at least the first semester of their freshman year (At least at the time of application)
- Provide proof of legal right to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must reside in the United States for the full duration of the internship program.
- Must complete their background check while physically present in the United States.
Interviews for the Fall 2025 internship program will begin in August 2025; for advanced applicants. Final selection decisions will be made by September 2025, and all candidates will be notified of their status via email by Human Resources.
