
Administrative Fellow
Summary:
The Administrative Fellow supports operational and strategic projects that will lay the foundation for future administrative success in a changing healthcare environment. The Fellowship is designed as a 1-year experience working on initiatives that will include management elements of Clinic/Hospital Operations, Quality Improvement, Finance, Strategy, and Organizational Development while collaborating with key leaders and staff on project planning and coordination, recommendation formulation and approval, solution implementation, measurement, and creation of accountability mechanisms; attends leadership meetings, board meetings, community events, and physician engagements.
Responsibilities:
Contributes through active learning, observation, and application of healthcare management concepts towards YRMC organizational goals; takes personal responsibility for fellowship learning objectives and experiences; assimilates contextual settings and effectively navigates appropriate systems, groups and structures; develops relationships with leadership, staff and physicians; attends leadership and other meetings and appropriately reflects the values of YRMC in conduct and demeanor; actively seeks out counsel from others and takes advantage of networking, leadership development, and career coaching opportunities. Supports operational and strategic initiatives; hones own leadership style and decision-making process through supporting various organizational leaders with impactful operational and strategic initiatives; supports projects including interprets and analyzes complex information/data; collaborates with key leaders, staff, and physicians; manages project planning, coordination and communication; recommends formulation and approval; implements solutions; measures determination and integration into current scorecards/dashboards; creates accountability mechanisms. Sets goals, deliverable achievements, and balanced flexibility; gains experience and supports decisions related to Clinic/Hospital Operations, Quality Improvement, Finance, Strategy, and Organizational Development; works with his/her respective leader(s) to formulate SMART goals and deliverable expectations; balances any change in priorities as new imperatives emerge, which reflect the rapid-change nature of the current healthcare environment; maintains frequent communication with stakeholders; determine when shifts in organizational needs and priorities occur; determines implications of such shifts on current projects and workload; modifies and propose solutions based on shifts and seek appropriate approvals; communicates and engages appropriate stakeholders in any relevant changes. Formulates a portfolio of deliverables, experiences, learnings and insights relevant to the individual and the organization during the fellowship timeframe; collects relevant insights, learning, observations, related to the projects and experiences during the fellowship; formulates a portfolio and presentation that will be delivered to the Leadership Council or equivalent group; seeks to incorporate relevant experiences into fellow's resume and future career ambitions; attends leadership and other meetings and appropriately reflects the values of YRMC in conduct and demeanor. Seeks out counsel from others and takes advantage of networking, leadership development, and career coaching opportunities.
