Qualifications (Per Illinois DCFS Licensing Requirements):
To be considered teacher-qualified, candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Be at least 19 years old AND
  • Have 60 semester hours from an accredited college/university, with 6 hours in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development
  • OR hold an Associate’s or higher degree in ECE or a closely related field
  • OR possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
