Electrical Design Intern

About the position

Our summer internship program allows you to learn more about the electrical construction industry and our business before beginning your career after graduation. The Electrical Design Intern works with and supports Sachs’ project teams to develop coordinated 3D preconstruction and construction models, detailed system routing layouts, pre-fabrication shop drawings, and component outputs using virtual building models.

Day in the life

  • Preparing sheets, labeling equipment, and conduits
  • Modeling conduit
  • Prepares calculations, specifications, cable pull schedules, reports, etc.
  • Work with the prefabrication department to produce manufacturable electrical assemblies
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical System Design or related major
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Basic understanding of Revit is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong desire to start a career in the electrical construction industry
  • Superior communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Accubid or other construction technology is a plus

 

Travel

  • Occasional travel to the project site or working from the project site may be required
