Position Summary:

The CSA Social Impact Fellowship is a competitive, high-impact internship experience for students and early-career professionals seeking to build real-world skills in social impact, leadership, and nonprofit strategy.

Fellows in the Finance Track will support CSA’s financial operations, grant tracking, and budgeting processes. Interns rotate through a unique rhythm of 1 week of learning followed by 1 week of experience, continuing this cycle throughout the program. This model allows Fellows to build skills and immediately apply them in a real-world, mission-driven context.

This is a hands-on, virtual internship designed for individuals who want to learn how to manage and sustain the financial health of a growing nonprofit.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with creating and updating internal budgets, forecasts, and expense reports
  • Support the tracking of grant allocations, funding restrictions, and compliance
  • Research nonprofit finance best practices and help streamline operations
  • Help document financial workflows and improve reporting systems
  • Learn and work with tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, and Bloomerang (training provided)
  • Complete assigned learning modules and reflection tasks as part of the fellowship cycle

 

Qualifications:

  • Interest in nonprofit finance, accounting, or operations
  • Strong numerical literacy and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets
  • Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn new tools and systems
  • Deep alignment with CSA’s mission and organizational integrity

 

Commitment:

  • Estimated commitment: 6–8 hours per week (virtual, flexible)
  • 1-week learning / 1-week experience cycle throughout the term
  • Participation in weekly virtual check-ins and project updates
