SUMMARY

Responsibilities for this position include support for Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineers as an Engineering Intern. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist with the review of casting issues in various stages of the manufacturing process
• Assist with analyzing data using spreadsheets and pivot tables 
• Assist with corrective and preventative actions
• Develop and standardize engineering specifications, work instructions, training documents, general operating procedures, and purchasing documents.
• Works with manufacturing while assisting the Engineering team in the development of new processes.
• Works with manufacturing equipment and performs some manufacturing operations including but not limited to wax assembly, injection, sandblast, grinding, or knockout to determine best process and to expedite engineering parts.
• Participate in plant initiatives to support the reduction of scrap, rework, and overall casting cost.  
• Understand blueprints and customer specifications.
• Use NX Cad in the development of various components used in the development of castings and processes throughout the facility.
• Work with Engineers to prepare shipments of parts – facilitate source inspection of parts, customer paperwork, working with inspectors, and approvals

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS 

Currently enrolled in an Engineering Program (Industrial/Mechanical/ Metallurgical) at a University level. 

Must be at least a sophomore year student.

Strong attention to detail.
