SUMMARY
Responsibilities for this position include support for Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineers as an Engineering Intern.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with the review of casting issues in various stages of the manufacturing process
- Assist with analyzing data using spreadsheets and pivot tables
- Assist with corrective and preventative actions
- Develop and standardize engineering specifications, work instructions, training documents, general operating procedures, and purchasing documents.
- Works with manufacturing while assisting the Engineering team in the development of new processes.
- Works with manufacturing equipment and performs some manufacturing operations including but not limited to wax assembly, injection, sandblast, grinding, or knockout to determine best process and to expedite engineering parts.
- Participate in plant initiatives to support the reduction of scrap, rework, and overall casting cost.
- Understand blueprints and customer specifications.
- Use NX Cad in the development of various components used in the development of castings and processes throughout the facility.
- Work with Engineers to prepare shipments of parts – facilitate source inspection of parts, customer paperwork, working with inspectors, and approvals
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS
Currently enrolled in an Engineering Program (Industrial/Mechanical/ Metallurgical) at a University level.
Must be at least a sophomore year student.
Strong attention to detail.
Only U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders will be considered due to legal/ government contract requirements.
