Public Relations Intern

Job Title: Public Relations Intern

Location: Norwalk, Connecticut / Remote 

Term: January 7, 2026 - June 30, 2026

 

Position Type: Full-time desired; will consider part-time candidates (20-40 hours per week)

Job Summary:  Ready to work with elite athletes and global brands? In the role of the Public Relations Intern, you will develop, pitch, and produce earned media opportunities on behalf of the agency and its clients. This includes but is not limited to television, editorial, print, podcasts, social media, and philanthropic areas of focus. This individual will also work closely with the business development team to craft effective messaging for the company and client pitches. This individual will be tasked to hero the narrative of each of our clients as well as the agency's story as we engage with a variety of different partnerships and projects throughout the program. Applicants must be detail-oriented, articulate communicators, adaptive to client needs, and exhibit a proactive mindset. Candidates will be receiving academic credit for this internship position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain media lists and contacts. 
  • Draft and edit content for press releases, newsletters, blogs, and media kits. 
  • Secure print and online coverage for clients through strategic, targeted media outreach. 
  • Coordinate and oversee media tours on behalf of clients while also building comprehensive recap reports to present internally.
  • Handle incoming prospective client and media opportunities while scheduling meetings with the appropriate departments. 
  • Track press coverage for monthly internal recap reports. 
  • Collaborate with the social media team on social media strategy and scheduling for posts. 
  • Manage and update the company website on a regular basis, working with the SEO team to leverage best search engine practices. 
  • Maintain events, award submissions, and speaking engagement opportunities on behalf of the agency. 
  • Cultivate relationships and work closely with speaker bureaus for potential speaking engagements with client roster. 
  • Research industry trends and generate new relationships as needed.

  • Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks. 
  • Maintain standards and professionalism with colleagues, clients, and partners during fluctuating workloads. 
  • Contagious passion for sports, brand, and athlete marketing. 
  • Willingness to assume an advanced role and be a direct representative of a fast-growing agency at a client-facing level. 
  • Uphold team standards by supporting colleagues in meeting their service/quality levels and targets. 
  • Develop effective working relationships with other team members and external partners. 
  • Foster and sustain new relationships on behalf of the agency. 
  • Oversee daily tasks to ensure business needs are consistently met.

Education and Qualifications 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university (all concentrations will be considered).
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position may require the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds, for in-person work opportunities.  

 

Work Environment 

This job operates fully remotely, offering the option to work from anywhere, with the opportunity to attend in person at our Norwalk, CT office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
