Seeking a 2025-2026 Lead 3K Teacher for preschool in Riverdale, BX

The Yearling Nursery School is seeking a warm and patient Teacher for our 3k DOE UPK class for the 2025-2026 school year. Seeking immediate hire to start first week in September.

About the position:

* Sign-on bonus up to $1,200.00

  • We follow the DOE school calendar (all school year breaks/holidays paid)
  • Hours are M-F 8:00am-3:30pm
  • Max of 12 preschool students w/FT assistant teacher

Duties

Teachers will:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for the 3K Study Plan curriculum.
  • Manage classroom activities and ensure a safe and nurturing environment for young learners.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to support individual learning needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and promote student development
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) MA in ECE or related field (NYS certification preferred, but not required); OR

2) Hold a BA in any subject (ECE or *related field preferred, but not required) + 1 year classroom experience in PK up to grade 3 with plans to enroll in MA specifically for ECE or a related field

(If BA is in an unrelated field, you must have a min. of 12 credits related directly to Early Childhood).

3) AA in ECE (practicum included) with current enrollment in a BA program for ECE or related field PLUS 2 years early childhood classroom experience

Assistant teaching or paraprofessional work acceptable, so long as it was professionally documented.

* Related field; Elementary Education, Nursery to 6th Grade Elementary Education, Special Education, Students With Disabilities, Birth to 2nd Grade , Students With Disabilities, 1st to 6th Grade, Child Psychology, Child Development, General Education

- Must be a warm, patient, energetic, and supportive educator who genuinely loves working with young children

- Must live close enough to the school so the commute is manageable (please make sure your UPDATED home address or zip code is on your resume)
