Assistant Project Management Intern

Positions Overview: Under the guidance of a Project Manager, our Assistant Project Manager Intern will complete appointed projects or assist project managers in completing tasks related to the project life cycle. This position will provide exposure to understanding a project from start to finish which includes, but is not limited to, project planning, allocating resources, and demonstrating strong quality and customer service both internally and externally.
A typical day in the life of this role will be a mixture of getting out on job sites and interacting with field owners, as well as working in the office to better understand all of the pre-build paperwork and planning that goes into a project.
Key Activities Include Assisting In
• Project start-up and daily job tasks
• Project closeouts (i.e. punch lists, as-built(s), final invoicing)
• Execution of subcontractor bid process
• Weekly tasks and job meetings during peak season
• Timely preparation and execution of supply orders
• Tracking deliveries in accordance with construction schedule
• Updating the construction schedule weekly, to support in resource allocation
• Reviewing proposed change orders and their validity
• Reviewing engineered plans for completeness and compliance with standards
• Supporting the Internal Operations department as neededParticipating in department meetings
Qualifications
• Working toward a 4-year degree in Construction Management, Operations Management, Industrial Management, or other related degree (Minimum 2.5 GPA)
• 40+ hours/week, with availability to travel as needed
• Valid driver’s license
• Housing arrangements in Cincinnati for the duration of the internship
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Responds to change as a positive challenge
• Capacity to preserve the confidentiality of information
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Commitment to providing remarkable customer service
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
