Job Description:
Spring 2026 Internship: January 20th through April 17th
Hybrid role requiring three days on-site at our office in Byron Center
$19 per hour
Position Summary:
The Financial Services department provides accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and income tax services for independent grocery stores that use SpartanNash as their wholesale provider. Our Tax Season Intern will help our team work through the year-end tax filing season.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Prepare Michigan Personal Property Tax Returns
- Prepare Federal and State business income tax returns (partnership, corporate, S corporation)
- Prepare Federal and State individual income tax returns
- Prepare quarterly Federal and State estimated tax payments
- Assist with tax planning and research
- Prepare client memorandums
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- High School Diploma (Required) or equivalent (GED).
- Accounting Major working towards a B.A/B.S degree
- A minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
- Ability to work independently and also in a team environment with a high degree of initiative, poise and confidentiality
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational, prioritization and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to take initiatives and seek opportunities to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office products.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
