Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Coordinator

Overview

Rate: $23-$25

 

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive and medication free procedure that uses magnetic fields to gently stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of depression. Advocates is looking for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a team atmosphere to join as TMS Technician.  Advocates operates in trauma informed approaches and is looking for individuals who share the same values that embody the Advocates way

Minimum Education Required

High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Administer TMS treatments according to established procedures and protocols. Set up the TMS medical device and monitor all aspects of the treatment sessions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment.
  • Record session notes, track insurance authorizations, and schedule sessions.
  • Provide educational consultations to people interested in TMS services.
  • Provide services in a trauma informed approach that embody the Advocates Way.
  • Facilitate collaborative care by maintaining effective communication with members of the person’s identified team, to include medication providers and other staff.
  • Attend trainings as assigned.
  • Attend and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and ability to successfully complete TMS training and demonstrate the ability to administer TMS treatments. Experience in mental health field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, including documentation abilities.
  • Basic computer skills.  Ability to use an electronic health record.
  • Ability to follow established treatment and office procedures.
  • Intuitive, client-centered, supportive approach.
  • Ability to thrive in an independent role while offering and receiving team support. 
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and access to an operational and insured vehicle.
  • Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
