TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Substation Engineering Interns for our Summer 2026
intern program. This is a paid full-time position. This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting engineers and designers in start to finish civil, structural, and environmental projects.
Including but not limited to preparation of layouts, details, calculations, and bidding documents.
Assisting manager level employees with high level management tasks, including gathering updates from team members.
Preparation of drawings and calculations to assist in the process from concept to final design.
Attending TRC STEP program meetings and educational seminars.
Attending project team meetings and meetings with the assigned mentor.
Reaching out to assist team members on projects and using any spare time to benefit from training modules for both software and calculations.
Required Skills:
Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Basic experience of the engineering world and process.
Ability to work both independently and in a project team with demonstrated oral communication, professional judgement and team building skills.
Willingness to learn, and benefit from professional judgment and critique.
Ambitious and driven when it comes to learning new things and working on new projects.
Curious to be involved in an array of activities.
Willing to be a problem solver and overcome issues along the way.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, Solidworks, MathCad, ESRI, HydroCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS, etc.)

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $18 to $26/hr. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
