LM Electrical Engineer Intern
The Lemont Refinery is searching for an Electrical Engineer intern who will be become familiar with the refinery organization and work processes while learning refinery safe work practices. The intern will work on various projects throughout the refinery under the direction of a more senior engineer. This position is a paid 11-week summer internship. A presentation covering all aspects of the internship experience and accomplishments will be expected at the end of the term.
Interns will be responsible for providing assistance with various engineering duties which may include: providing technical support for various refinery units, basic engineering research and support for electrical projects, updating engineering records and perform routine engineering calculations. Site visits may include witnessing of site activities and scoping and verification for projects. Complete End of Internship Summary and presentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a Electrical Engineering Bachelor Degree program
- Must be at least a sophomore status in college (completion of freshman year prior to start of internship) with an overall GPA of 3.0 or above
- Available to work forty hours (40) per week
- Must have current valid driver’s license
- Candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Eligibility
- Eligibility Requirements: The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.
