DEPARTMENT: T&S Protection & Control Design Engineering – F&M Service Center or Topeka General Office or Wichita Service Center
LOCATION: Kansas City or Topeka, KS or Wichita, KS
PAY RANGE: $23.00 - $28.00
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required) (Update this section based on your hours)

Intern Description:
This intern position will be under the supervision of the Sr. Manager or Manager of P&C Design Engineering and will perform a variety of assignments related to protection and control design, project scoping,
Job tasks include but not limited to:
Tasks or projects the intern will work on over the summer.
- Review of the P&C Design process.
- Assist in creating schematic designs and drawing sets for the Substation P&C design.
- Apply protective relay designs to project work.
- Project P&C Design scope development.
- Create Project equipment Alarm lists and EMS points.
- Review relay logic related to protective relaying schemes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidate must be enrolled in a university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Power Systems. Candidate must also have completed or intend to complete the power system protective relay course.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
- Proficiency in visual basic scripting and spreadsheets desired.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and proofreading skills.
- Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel.
Working Conditions:
Normal office working conditions, may require an occasional site visit for data gathering.
