Summer Analyst - Internship
Chartwell’s 9-week internship program is designed to provide entry-level understanding and knowledge of business valuation and corporate finance with exposure and interaction with all levels within Chartwell. The internship is a training-focused program and provides a foundational knowledge and insight into Chartwell’s Valuation & Opinions, Corporate Finance, and Consulting practice areas. The internship includes internal and external training, individual and group assignments, and courses in the following areas:
- Cash flow modeling
- Financial analysis
- Public company peer group market analysis
- Merger and acquisition market peer group analysis
- Valuation methods including the discounted cash flow method
- Industry research
- Report writing and presentation preparation
- Marketing support activities
- Analysis and other such activities as deemed relevant to the firm’s success
The internship includes case studies where intern analysts will work independently to build a financial model, conduct a valuation, and develop and present their analysis to senior leadership at the firm.

Essential Job Functions
- Due diligence analysis and financial model data entry
- Search and analyze public companies and M&A transactions across a variety of industries using Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other financial databases
- Sort, review, analyze, and develop conclusions from large amounts of economic, market, industry, and company-specific information
- Work independently on multiple engagements with multiple team members while managing varied responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
- Junior class ranking in pursuit of a business degree and coursework in corporate finance theories
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated experience multitasking with little oversight
