R&D Digital Capabilities Intern

Position Description: 

We are seeking a motivated and self-driven summer intern to support our R&D Digital Capabilities team. This Intern will be responsible for implementing communication plans for key initiatives within the Alcon R&D Digital Capabilities team. This individual will use their communications skills to develop compelling content that supports business changes. They will also implement communications at the appropriate cadence for employee subgroups, ensuring internal stakeholders receive the information they need to know, when they need to know it, and in a way that is clear and actionable. This role supports a team that contributes to business success and strategic vision by taking a customized communications approach to individual initiatives. A strong candidate will possess strong writing skills and experience in developing and executing communications plans.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop communications for assigned initiatives.
  • Participate in communication planning and design.
  • Serve as communications contact for designated initiatives.
  • Contribute to program updates for senior-level stakeholders.
  • Actively support continuous improvements to communications metrics for greater business impact.
  • Independently design, develop, and deploy innovative communication initiatives — including but not limited to email messages, videos, intranet pages, interactive campaigns/gamification.
  • Monitor impact through various feedback channels to demonstrate results.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op. 
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s level degree in Communications, Human Resources, Project Management, Learning & Development, Marketing, or a related major.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects). 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated). 
  • Ability to commit to a full-time (40 hrs. per week) Intern position.
