Summer Intern, Litigation & Government Investigations

Position Description: 

We are seeking a motivated and driven summer intern with superior written and oral communication skills to support our Litigation & Government Investigations team. This intern will conduct legal research, prepare written analysis of key legal issues, formulate strategic recommendations, and assist with providing advice to the team’s internal clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research to support ongoing litigation and investigation matters.
  • Draft written analysis and memoranda.
  • Assist in developing and implementing dispute resolution strategies.
  • Support the team in managing pre-litigation and litigation matters, including document discovery, depositions, motions, and hearing/trial preparation.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with internal stakeholders concerning ongoing litigation, investigations, and compliance matters.
  • As necessary, attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school for at least two semesters prior to internship.
  • Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 3.3/4.0. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated superior written and oral communications skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated). 
  • Ability to commit to a full-time (i.e., 40 hrs. per week), in-person internship on Alcon’s Fort Worth campus.
