TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse ESG Interns for our Summer 2026 intern program out of our Houston, TX Office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2026 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.


Responsibilities

 

  • Collect, validate, calculate, and aggregate Sustainability data for reporting; 
  • Conduct research and peer benchmarking to support strategic planning, goal setting to facilitate conversations with stakeholders; 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of successful Sustainability and GHG strategy and management programs. 
  • Support air quality and environmental permitting projects associated with Energy Transition projects. 
  • Assist with CDP climate change, water, and/or forest disclosures; 
  • Contribute and enhance our team's current knowledge of Sustainability and the Energy Transition space; and 
  • Build relationships across TRC sectors and business units to identify Energy Transition, GHG, and Sustainability opportunities.

Qualifications

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be at least 18 years old 
  • Junior, senior, master’s students pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or related field  
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to lead complex projects 
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills 
  • Solid technical and problem-solving skills in a team environment 
  • Ability to effectively manage changing priorities to ensure client and internal needs are being met in a timely manner.  
  • Analytical and detail oriented 
  • Self-motivated individual who is enthusiastic about their work with a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence 
  • Experience with greenhouse gas (GHG) emission calculations or reporting is preferred but not required 
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint).
