Registered Nurse
NATURE OF WORK: This professional position functions independently as a member of Valley’s team for those clients that require services in Outpatient Mental Health Services. The RN acts as a medical resource individual for team members specifically overseeing care providers such as the Medical Assistant and provides direct care as scheduled. The RN will uphold the agency and program mission/values by offering professional nursing services to clients to ensure optimum service planning and delivery. The RN will provide services in the Fairmont office, Kingwood office, and Morgantown office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to perform Essential Duties as outlined below.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma.
- Current W.V. License from the West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses.
- Previous experience working as an RN
- Knowledge of nursing protocol, theories, principals, and practices of nursing.
- Ability to comply with Client’s Rights.
- Ability to comply with Valley’s and Division departmental safety procedures.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Ability to legally transport clients.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to be trained.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience working with individuals with a diagnosis in at least one of the following populations: MH, MR/DD, or CD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Records or directs to have recorded client’s vital signs, weights, measurements, intake and output, food consumption and other information as ordered.
- Assists with the OB-MAT program in various counties throughout our catchment area.
- Monitors and organizes medical sections of client charts.
- Answers medication questions and provides medical education for staff and clients.
- Administers or directs to have administered all medications as order by a physician and assists with medication refills.
- Coordinates and runs the indigent medication programs.
- Oversees care providers such as the Medical Assistant in the delivery of medical services to clients.
- Complies and implements or directs to have complied and implemented all physician’s orders.
- Helps to develop, reviews and ensures implementation of care plans in compliance with Valley’s and State guidelines and physician’s orders.
- Completes Personal Care evaluations and monitors clients receiving Personal Care services.
- Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of information documented into the clients records.
- Participate as a member of the professional interdisciplinary treatment team as client needs dictate.
- Documents all client contact/ services.
- Conducts trainings as assigned.
- Adheres to Valley’s productivity, clinical quality, and compliance standards.
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
