This co-op will be hybrid, and students must be located near one of our U.S. offices – Wellesley, MA; Kansas City, MO; Hartford, CT; Portland, ME; Milwaukee, WI.

 

The Role 

The Strategic Vendor Management (SVM) team manages SLC Management’s key strategic vendor partnerships across the investment and operations teams. Strategic providers include Aladdin, Bloomberg, S&P, Moody’s, ICE, and other strategic providers.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our SVM team. The successful candidate will assist in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic vendors and key investment and operations teams.

This internship will provide an opportunity to develop financial and analytical skills and gain exposure to Vendor Management and Investment Operations. While the job role primarily supports the SVM team, you will have the opportunity to interface and learn from financial professionals in other areas across SLC.

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assist SVM team in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with strategic vendors and key investment and operations teams. Interfacing with investment management and various corporate and project teams globally to drive positive outcomes.

Collaboratively build out and maintain SVM’s Salesforce system.

Identify, develop, and implement new process improvements for key SVM functions, including reporting, SharePoint, contract renewals, and user outreach programs. 

Support process improvement efforts across SVM and the broader SLC Management teams to achieve key goals, primarily related to cost savings and overall vendor management.

Develop performance scorecards, vendor tracking reports, and relationship summary overviews for key strategic providers.

Assist in evaluation of vendor systems and participate in industry events/research, when applicable.

Accountable for centralizing, documenting, and maintaining strategic provider artefacts and market intelligence.

Understand and document business processes and support other functions as needs and priorities shift.

Other duties as assigned

Core skill sets needed for this role:

A strong interest in investments, finance, and the trading/market data systems used.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Salesforce, and data analysis tools.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Positive attitude and ability to collaborate and work effectively with various teams and stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Demonstrate ownership for outcomes, incorporates lessons and learning into future actions.

 

The Candidate

To be eligible for a co-op at Sun Life, you must meet the following requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of the co-op (January 2026 – June 2026)

Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in business, finance, economics, or accounting.

Eligible to legally work in the United States

Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during co-op session
