Summer 2026 Cyber Security Intern

This position is for students currently enrolled in a degree program. To qualify, applicants must be returning to their academic institution at the end of Summer 2026, with a graduation date of December 2026 and beyond. Our cyber security internship roles provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in vital cybersecurity domains. Our interns have the opportunity to work in one of the following areas:

  • Security Software Engineering: build your skills in areas like assessments, automation, back-end systems, encryption, or even joining our Red Team.
  • Security Analyst: build your skills in compliance, forensics, incident handling, threat intelligence, or third-party security.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building secure software and infrastructure, applying best practices.
  • Assist in finding and fixing security flaws in applications, systems, and networks.
  • Develop scripts and tools (e.g., Python, Bash) to streamline security operations.
  • Gain exposure to various cybersecurity tools, from vulnerability scanners to SIEM platforms.
  • Investigate emerging cyber threats and attack techniques.
  • Help create and maintain essential security documentation.

Qualifications

  • Awareness of core cybersecurity concepts and common vulnerabilities.
  • Desire to learn and grow within a technical environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • For Security Software Engineering:
    • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming languages
    • Experience with at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, C#, C++
  • For Security Analyst Candidates:
    • Knowledge and/or experience with at least one of the following areas: risk analysis; intelligence analysis; cyber forensics; security compliance frameworks; security governance concepts
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) or Git.
  • Participation in CTF competitions, personal security projects, or open-source contributions.
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs, tools and concepts
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related technical field.
  • A graduation date at least 4 months after the end of the internship
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the duration of the internship
  • Ability to work onsite for a minimum of 3 days per week at on of our primary Intuit locations.
