Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products Decatur is seeking a strong leader and self-motivated Mechanical Engineer.  The responsibilities include but are not limited to troubleshooting mechanical failures, assisting with maintenance strategies, machine design, mechanical systems design, construction engineering, maintaining engineering documents, drafting, and capital project management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Ability to understand and interpret detailed drawings of machinery and buildings
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with tube mills.
• Prior experience with parts conveyor design.
• Prior experience in heavy equipment or manufacturing.
• Process improvement background using statistical analysis.
• Equipment upgrade, installation, and commissioning experience.
• Prior leadership experience and contractor management.
