2026 Summer Intern, Corporate Marketing and Communications

This role will work with ICF’s Corporate Marketing and Communications team to assist with various phases of marketing and communications from brainstorming to content development and campaign measurement. Duties may include, but are not limited to content development, coordinating requests from internal clients, supporting campaign execution, helping with event logistics and working with the rest of our team on marketing projects as needed. 

 

You will learn about: content development, social media strategy, SEO best practices, analytics and reporting, web strategy, digital marketing, omni-channel campaigns, webinars, and more. 

 

Our 2026 Summer Internship is a 10-week, full-time program that generally begins in early June and concludes in mid-August. The internship can be fully-remote from any U.S. location or, be hybrid from our Reston, VA office. Please note, we are unable to offer relocation assistance for hybrid opportunities.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Social Media Coordination. Help create and schedule posts, respond to comments, engage with audiences, report on metrics, and more.  
  • Content Creation. Contribute to the creation and publishing of marketing and communications materials such as blog posts, infographics, videos and newsletters.  
  • Market Research. Conduct research on target audiences, competitors, industry trends and customer preferences to help develop effective marketing strategies.  
  • Campaigns. Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels (both online and offline).  
  • Event coordination. Help organize and promote events, webinars and client workshops. 
  • Data Analysis. Conduct basic analysis of marketing data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of companies and propose improvements.  
  • Graphic Design. Acquire basic design skills to create visual content and marketing collateral using tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator.   
  • Media Monitoring. Help keep track of media mentions and coverage.  
  • Internal Communications. Support the creation and publication of internal newsletters and announcements.  
  • Teach us something new!  

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Completed a minimum of 30 college course credit hours in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Innate curiosity and desire to continuously learn. 
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and coordination skills. 
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Self-starter with diligent work ethic and proven dependability. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and anticipate needs or next steps.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. 
  • Keen interest in digital content development, marketing strategy, and website management.
