In 2019, Ward Home joined the Auberle family and has three programs in our Young Adult Services Department.
Program Description: The Family Healing Center (FHC) is an innovative licensed inpatient 3.5 drug and alcohol facility dedicated to comprehensive addiction treatment and family healing. FHC provides a holistic approach to recovery, offering personalized care for individuals struggling with addiction while actively involving their families in the healing process.
Through a combination of evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, and family support programs, FHC addresses the underlying causes of addiction, promoting emotional and behavioral well-being. Children live on-site with their parent during treatment, allowing families to remain connected and supported throughout the recovery journey. The program empowers individuals to rebuild their lives and strengthens family bonds, fostering a supportive environment for long-term recovery and resilience.
Position Title and Overview: Nurse - FHC
- Administer daily medications (med passes) in accordance with physician orders, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct medical intakes, health screenings, and assessments to support comprehensive, trauma-informed care planning.
- Coordinate all resident medical and behavioral health appointments, including scheduling, transportation, and follow-up care.
- Serve as a clinical liaison between residents, healthcare providers, families, and the FHC team to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor and manage medication inventory and clinical supplies, maintaining compliance with storage regulations and ensuring timely replenishment.
Location and Travel Requirements: This position is primarily located in Mt. Oliver. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled.
The travel required for this position is minimal.
Position Requirements:
- Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Proficient in computer use and capable of quickly learning and navigating systems such as the Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff, and external partners.
- The facility operates 24/7, and flexibility to work evenings or weekends may be required. This position typically follows an 8-hour or 12-hour shift, weekdays.
