Research and Operations Assistant

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

As a Research and Operations Assistant, you would be helping the team with their day-to-day tasks, as well as get the opportunity to do some of your own research to be published in our Centre Write online newspaper. This would include tasks such as researching and summarizing political developments in the UK, the work of other political research organizations, reviewing government consultations, writing articles and helping with the organization of events such as public panels, debates and dinners.

Perks of the internship include being able to meet senior politicians and thought leaders as well as participation in our regular social events, such as karting, board games and regular outings.

There will be extensive networking opportunities with people working across Westminster, including ministers, MPs, journalists, academics and business leaders, among others.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
We are an independent think tank that seeks to defend and improve liberal society. Our primary role is to change government policy and public attitudes. We are a home for members of all political parties and none who have liberal, meritocratic, pro-market, institutionalist and internationalist values. Established by Ryan Shorthouse in 2014, we are today a respected and leading think tank – as well as a membership organisation – which delivers an extensive programme of research, publications and events. Our thinking and ideas have had significant influence on public debate and government policy.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.
