About:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to help grow and engage The DEC Network’s online community. This role will work closely with the Marketing team to develop social media strategies, create compelling content, and track performance metrics across multiple platforms.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, analytics, and community engagement while contributing to the visibility of entrepreneurs in the DFW area.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Scheduling: Draft and schedule posts for social media platforms, ensuring alignment with brand voice.
Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments and messages to foster connections with followers.
Campaign Support: Assist with social media campaigns promoting events and programs.
Analytics & Reporting: Track engagement and growth metrics, providing insights for optimization.
Multimedia Support: Capture and edit photos, videos, and graphics for social content.
Preferred Skills
Strong written communication and storytelling
Creative mindset with a good eye for visuals
Organized and detail-oriented
Experience with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Buffer)
Basic graphic design or video editing experience is a plus
Interest in entrepreneurship, marketing, or nonprofit communications
Must Have/Qualifications
- Social Media Management experience is a plus
- Graphic design and/or Canva experience is a plus
- Attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Proficiency in Google Docs and Sheets
- This internship is Hybrid (must be in DFW).
This is not a paid position.
