The International Sibling Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit with partnerships across 190+ countries, is seeking an Internship Program Coordinator Intern to help manage the issNOW.earth Internship Management module—a comprehensive platform for recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluating the next generation of leaders.

 

As an Internship Program Coordinator Intern, you will support all aspects of the internship lifecycle including recruitment, application review, onboarding, timesheet management, performance evaluation, and alumni engagement. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in human resources, program management, talent development, and organizational operations while developing future leaders.

 

What You'll Do:
 

You will manage the operational and administrative functions of the Internship Management module, supporting 30-50 interns across 2-3 cohorts during the 2026 rollout. Your responsibilities will include application review, interview coordination, onboarding logistics, mentor matching, timesheet tracking, performance reporting, and alumni network development.
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Review internship applications and coordinate video interview scheduling
  • Conduct reference checks and prepare offer letters for selected candidates
  • Develop and deliver onboarding materials including orientation presentations, training modules, and welcome packets
  • Manage timesheet submission and approval process to track intern hours and project milestones
  • Match interns with mentors based on skills, interests, and career goals
  • Facilitate monthly check-ins with interns to assess progress, address challenges, and provide support
  • Coordinate performance evaluations and generate mid-term and final reports
  • Prepare certificates of completion and letters of recommendation
  • Build and maintain the alumni network database and coordinate alumni engagement events
  • Track internship program metrics including application volume, completion rates, and satisfaction scores
  • Collaborate with university career centers to promote the internship program
  • Assist with grant reporting and funder communications related to internship outcomes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms)
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive applicant information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
     

Preferred:

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems or HR management software
  • Background in recruitment, interviewing, or talent acquisition
  • Knowledge of internship program best practices and legal compliance (FLSA, academic credit requirements)
  • Experience with survey tools (Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
  • Multilingual skills (especially Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, or other UN languages)
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in HR, nonprofit administration, or program management
  • Familiarity with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and global development issues

Position Details

Location Type: Remote (work from anywhere)
Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours per week, flexible scheduling)
Duration: 12 weeks (with possibility of extension based on performance and funding)
Start Date: Flexible (rolling admissions with cohort start dates in February, May, and August 2026)
Compensation: Unpaid internship with academic credit eligibility and professional development benefits
 

Time Commitment Breakdown:
 

  • Application review and interview coordination: 5-6 hours/week
  • Onboarding and training: 3-4 hours/week
  • Intern support and mentorship coordination: 4-5 hours/week
  • Performance tracking and reporting: 2-3 hours/week
  • Team meetings and collaboration: 2 hours/week
