Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Coordinator
Otra Cosa Network (OCN) is a small NGO located in Huanchaco, Trujillo - which is in northern Peru. We work in disadvantaged neighbourhoods with developing communities that are mainly populated by displaced peoples from the Peruvian highland and rainforest regions. Due to the effects of climate change and deforestation, they have been forced to flee their homes and now live in informal settlements around the town of Huanchaco. Many of these settlements lack basic amenities such as running water, plumbing or basic sanitation services.
We are currently looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to manage the experience of volunteers from various countries & backgrounds during their time in Peru with Otra Cosa Network.
As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
- Ensuring that entry, mid-term and exit interviews are completed with every volunteer, to ascertain their desired goals and ambitions from volunteering with OCN.
- Monitor the morale and motivation of volunteers, raising any concerns with the management team for support.
- Building strong rapport with volunteers from a variety of countries and backgrounds.
- Design and implement new ways to develop volunteer engagement and satisfaction whilst on project/present in Peru.
- Lead social events with volunteers to build a strong esprit de corps.
- Ensure volunteers abide by organisational rules and regulations at all times, raising any breaches to the management team.
- Support with the creation of the Volunteer Rota each week, flagging potential issues or suggestions to the management team.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys the company of other people, building strong relationships and wants experience in the world of international development.
