Waterfront Lifeguard

Camp Zanika is a youth summer camp that provides children, grades 1-12, an opportunity to live beneath the trees, learn under the stars and experience the wonder of the great outdoors. On the shores of beautiful Lake Wenatchee, Camp Zanika is the ideal location for kids to learn new skills, have fun, and make friends & memories that will last a lifetime.

Pay is $425 per week, includes meals and housing. FLSA Section 13(a)(3)

Reporting to the Waterfront Director, Lifeguards are responsible for teaching, supervising and helping coordinate Camp Zanika's waterfront program. Help Maintain standards that lead to a quality program

Minimum Qualifications

Training and experience in waterfront activities

Current Lifeguard Training or equivalent Certification

Current CPR and First Aid Certifications

Desire and ability to work with children outdoors

Ability to accept guidance and supervision

Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control

Must be a minimum of 19 years of age

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in testing and classifying swimming abilities of camp staff and campers.

During camp training, work with the waterfront director to set up the waterfront.

Conduct daily checks of equipment in the area for safety, cleanliness and condition.

Teach and monitor proper use of equipment.

Participate in weekly scheduled meetings.

Perform a weekly skill training practice scheduled by Waterfront Director

Guard waterfront activities as assigned by the waterfront director.

Participate in all "All Camp" activities.

Fill in for counselor time off.

Assist in packing all materials and supplies at the end of season.

Other duties as assigned / reassigned.
