CA Military/ROTC/Veteran Summer Finance Internship

Mischler Financial Group is the longest-running US Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned institutional broker-dealer, serving institutional clients nationwide. Supporting the military and veterans is central to our firm’s mission and culture. 

Role: Two 4-week summer finance internships in CA or CT. Special emphasis on military-service candidates such as veterans, military, & ROTC students with profiles in finance, economics, or math-related topics. Dates may be flexible.

The Summer Finance Internship provides undergraduate students with hands-on exposure to institutional finance, capital markets, and sales and trading environments. Interns work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain practical insight into financial markets and industry operations.

Key Responsibilities

Interns in the Irvine office can expect to:

  • Gain an overview of the IPO market
  • Learn and participate in a structured institutional sales process
  • Conduct research and analysis to support sales and market activity
  • Interact with issuers and internal stakeholders, as appropriate
  • Rotate through other functional areas to broaden exposure
  • Build advanced Excel skills and utilize the Bloomberg Terminal

Qualifications

  • Currently a freshman, sophomore, or junior in an accredited college
  • Coursework or experience in Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and computer applications
  • Familiarity with AI tools and financial technology preferred
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and team-focused mindset
  • SIE, Series 7, or Bloomberg experience a plus; not required

Program Details

  • Paid internship (weekly stipend)
  • Full-time, temporary summer position
  • Approximate hours:
    • Stamford, CT: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    • Irvine, CA: 5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Relocation or housing assistance is not provided. Applicants may find roommate apps or nearby college websites helpful resources.
