QARI (Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving immigrant individuals and families by advancing access to culturally responsive programs and services. With a presence in Quincy, Boston, New York City, and Rhode Island, we focus on building integrated support systems across schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
We are seeking a Program Manager, Health & Wellness to lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of a health equity and diabetes prevention and management initiative focused on Asian communities. This role is ideal for someone who excels at project management, partner communication, and bringing diverse stakeholders into alignment around shared goals and a clear vision.
The Program Manager will work closely with QARI’s New York and Massachusetts teams, as well as external partners, to ensure programs are delivered effectively, on time, and in alignment with organizational priorities. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for partners and internal team members, facilitating clear communication, coordinating activities across teams, and ensuring everyone is working toward common objectives.
Key responsibilities include managing program timelines and deliverables, organizing workflows, supporting team coordination, tracking progress against goals, overseeing data and documentation, maintaining budgets, and preparing reports. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Program Manager will be responsible for keeping programs on track, meeting quarterly goals, and ensuring strong execution across all aspects of implementation.
A background in public health or nutrition is not required but is considered a plus. Strong organizational skills, the ability to navigate different perspectives, and confidence in leading collaborative work across teams and partners are essential.

Responsibilities:
- Provide program leadership for the planning, coordination, and execution of a diabetes prevention and health equity initiative, ensuring alignment with QARI’s mission, strategy, and operational goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal teams and external partners, including funders, community organizations, clinical partners, and advisory groups, ensuring clear communication, shared expectations, and alignment across stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and funders, providing regular updates on program strategy, progress, adjustments, and outcomes.
- Manage program contracts and partner agreements, including subcontracting arrangements, reporting requirements, and coordination of financial and programmatic deliverables.
- Maintain accountability for program milestones, deliverables, and outcomes, with a focus on program quality, performance, and readiness for renewal or expansion.
- Develop and manage detailed work plans, timelines, and implementation schedules to ensure programs stay on track and teams remain aligned.
- Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure the program operates within scope, schedule, and budget, and work with project teams to adjust plans as needed.
- Track program budgets and expenses, monitor annual project costs, and support effective financial management.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, financial, and time-management skills while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and mentoring of new staff in collaboration with QARI leadership, and regularly assess staffing capacity and needs.
- Plan, facilitate, and lead team meetings, required funder meetings, and relevant program activities, ensuring clear agendas, decision-making, and follow-up.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned in support of program and organizational priorities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required in a relevant field. Degrees in public health, health sciences, sociology, psychology, social work, education, project management, or related disciplines are a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated experience in program or project management, preferably within community-based, nonprofit, or multi-partner initiatives.
- Experience working in health equity, health access, diabetes prevention and management, or related fields is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead programs across the full project life cycle, from planning and implementation through evaluation and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complexity, align diverse perspectives, and drive practical solutions.
- Solid familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff, senior leadership, funders, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage scope, timelines, and budgets while maintaining accountability and quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive or similar collaboration tools.
- Willingness to undergo required background checks and screenings.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends as program needs require.
- Bilingual fluency in English and one or more of the following languages is strongly preferred: Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Hindi.
- Based in New York City, with the ability and willingness to travel locally within NYC and occasionally to Massachusetts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
