Summer 2026 Graduate Internship Program – Physician Services Organization (PSO)

 

During Summer 2026, NYP’s Physician Services Organization (PSO) will offer a 10-week paid internship opportunity for qualified graduate students from leading university programs.

 

Interns will work closely with PSO leadership and contribute to projects that advance our strategic priorities. This internship will provide hands-on experience in healthcare administration and physician practice operations within one of the nation’s leading health systems.

 

Program Details:

Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026

Location: On-site in New York, NY

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday

Note: NYP does not offer relocation stipends for interns.

 

About PSO:
The Physician Services Organization supports NYP’s employed physician practices, focusing on operational excellence, patient access, and quality care delivery. Interns will gain exposure to initiatives that enhance physician engagement, optimize workflows, and improve patient experience.

 

Ideal Candidates:
Graduate students pursuing degrees in healthcare administration, public health, business, or related fields with strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

 

Internship Program Components

Each intern will be assigned a mentor from the members of the Emerging Leadership Council

Interns will have one-on-one career information meetings with Senior Leaders

All interns will create and present a 15-minute presentation to senior leaders to highlight their contributions to the organization at the completion of the summer program

Interns will be invited to participate in networking events throughout the summer with other emerging leaders in the organization who have completed similar programs to enhance their summer experience

Preferred Criteria

MHA, MPH, MBA candidates

Experience in healthcare

Physician Services Organization (PSO) - seeking someone with business consulting experience or experience managing a healthcare office/department

 

Required Criteria

Qualified candidates will have completed their first year of a graduate program by the start of the internship; and be currently enrolled in a graduate program

Knowledge of computers and various Microsoft office applications

Ability to work independently

Good organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to provide statistical analysis
