We are a Christian high adventure summer camp in Marion North Carolina and looking for someone to serve as a Climbing Guide this summer. We have decades of history running a sharp and thriving climbing program. This position is designed to help outdoor guides lead adventures daily, gain practical experience hours, and run safe climbing trips. They will be expected to take 6-12 campers on a variety of trips throughout the week including top rope climbing and bouldering. We climb on local rock here in WNC from beginner to advanced routes. This position works alongside kids getting to know them, shaping the next generation of climbers, and teaching the importance of safety on any rock as they progress in skills. From bouldering to setting up climbs our Climbing Guide will run a safe and impactful climbing program here at Timberlake for our campers to grow in the sport.

Alongside bouldering skills, climbing experience , and teaching skills we are looking for someone that displays these personality traits: Maturity, professionalism, good with kids, positivity, grit, motivation, and is comfortable accepting both praise and constructive feedback. The majority of trips will be day with overnight trips weekly or bi-weekly. While climbing will be the focus, you might help with other adventure opportunities like rafting, caving, fly fishing, or MTB to name a few. Must be over 21 years old, van trained, hold a WFR, and ready to or have tested for SPI (we provide this free in house).

Staff will go through 2 weeks of in-person training. Full time seasonal work throughout the Summer with opportunities in the Fall. This is a competitive paid position which includes staff lodging and meals. We also provide ropes, equipment, transportation, and extra gear. Outdoor industry pro-deals.
