Health & Wellness Intern
The Health & Wellness Intern will work with the Race, Event, and Program Coordinator and Community Recreation to observe, support, and evaluate races, events, programs and summer camps. Upon completion of the internship, the selected candidate will present recommendations for improvement with an emphasis on increasing participation and improving customer experience. The Health & Wellness Intern will earn approximately 150 hours over the course of the internship. Weekly hours are subject to race, event, program, and summer camp schedules. Non-traditional business and weekend hours required.
Location: This intern will check in at Executive Hall (2090 Executive Hall Rd Suite 170. Charleston, SC 29407), but will attend events throughout Charleston county.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists in the implementation of programs, races, runs and competitions including, but not limited to, Aquatic Fitness and Yoga programming, Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series and Trail Races, and summer camps
• Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to exercise mature judgment
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete a given task
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with CCPRC staff and the general public
• Shall possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License
Minimum Training and Experience
Seeking an intern with an interest in the fields of: Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, Sports Marketing, Physical Education, or Public Health. Must be a rising junior with some coursework towards your major.
