Summer 2026 Graduate Internship Program – Hospital Operations (One Westchester)
During Summer 2026, NYP will offer a 10-week paid Graduate Internship in Hospital Operations supporting the One Westchester, spanning NYP Westchester, Hudson Valley Hospital, and NYP The One.
The Graduate Intern will partner closely with operational and administrative
leaders and gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple hospital sites. This role is designed to provide broad exposure to hospital operations with a focus on project execution, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
About One Westchester:
One Westchester is a strategic initiative focused on operational alignment and integration across NYP Westchester, Hudson Valley Hospital, and NYP The One. The program emphasizes efficiency, access, quality, and a seamless patient experience across the region. Interns will gain valuable exposure to system-level operations and regional healthcare strategy.
Internship Exposure & Key Responsibilities May Include:
Project Management: Supporting Radiology and Access-related projects (and additional initiatives as identified), including tracking milestones, coordinating stakeholders, and preparing status updates
Healthcare Operations: Assisting with operational assessments and improvement initiatives across hospital functions
Data Analytics: Supporting data collection, analysis, dashboards, and reporting to inform operational decisions
Facilities Management: Gaining exposure to facilities planning, space utilization, and infrastructure-related operational projects
Preparing presentations and materials for leadership meetings
Collaborating with cross-functional clinical and administrative teams
Internship Program Components
Assigned mentor from NYP’s Emerging Leadership Council
One-on-one career information meetings with senior leaders
Final presentation to senior leadership highlighting summer contributions
Networking events with other emerging leaders
Program Details
Dates: June 1 – August 7, 2026
Location: On-site in New York, NY
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
Note: NYP does not offer relocation stipends for interns.
Preferred Criteria
Current graduate students pursuing degrees in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Health Policy, or related fields
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Interest in hospital operations, quality improvement, and healthcare delivery systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, in-person environment
Required Criteria
Completion of first year of a graduate program by internship start
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
