Ascend Intern - Public Health
Position will be posted until filled. Hiring managers will actively review applications, scheduling interviews, and hiring candidates as they see fit.
- Learn about and support community-wide public health planning efforts aimed at improving the health and well-being of Sioux Falls residents.
- Assist with collection, organization, and summary of community health data for the Community Health Assessment (CHA).
- Support development and tracking of goals, strategies, and metrics for the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
- Help prepare reports, presentations, and basic data visualizations.
- Participate in community engagement activities, meetings, and stakeholder outreach.
- Assist with public health initiatives, education efforts, and special projects as assigned.
- This is a 2026 summer internship.
Minimum Qualifications
- Students currently enrolled in a public health, community health, health sciences, sociology, or data analytics curriculum as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school.
- Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis or visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, GIS, SAS, etc.)
